Senior System Test Engineer

Full Time | Menlo Park, CA

Apstra is looking for Senior System Test Engineer to be part of Apstra engineering team. In this role, you will interact with developers and product managers to validate, test and improve Apstra Intent-Based Networking and Analytics product.

Responsibilities

  • Test software product to ensure it operates as defined by requirements
  • Build network configurations to model well-optimized network designs
  • Plan, develop and execute automated and manual test plans
  • Provide constructive feedback, report issues and interact with developers to deliver superior product quality
  • Review requirements from the Product Management team
  • Utilize available network troubleshooting tools, including network packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, and customer input to facilitate effective issue resolution
  • Create network and server rack face elevations, floor plans, wire diagram and details port maps for new deployments and documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge on Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies by either validating or deploying related networking products
  • Hands-on experience at least one popular Networking Operating Systems such as NXOS, IOS, EOS, JunOS, Cumulus Linux and SONiC
  • Solid understanding of popular network deployment architectures for Data Center networks
  • Expert understanding of protocols used in Data Center networks such as VXLAN, and MP-BGP
  • Good knowledge of HTTP APIs (REST)
  • Experience with Linux-based systems and network troubleshooting tools
  • Quality focused personality with a strong interest in finding product and interaction limitations
  • 5y+ of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in testing SDN or network management products
  • Exposure to server/network virtualization and container technologies
  • Exposure to python programming language
